Practical help and support groups

Stepping Out is a Community Group based in Bridport, West Dorset. The aim of the group is to help members with their recovery, during and after their cancer diagnosis, by the provision of a group exercise and well-being Scheme. Stepping Out classes are designed and delivered by Level 4 Cancer and Exercise Rehabilitation Instructors and aim to improve strength, flexibility, balance, overall fitness and general well-being. The Progamme also includes classes delivered by specialist instructors in activities such as Pilates, Relaxation and Meditation, Nordic Walking and Yoga and talks in topics like the Lymphatic System, Diet and Nutrition and Mindfulness. Stepping Out is a supportive and friendly Group and sessions are free to anyone who has received a cancer diagnosis as well as their partners and carers. To access the scheme you just need to be referred by your GP, Cancer Nurse Specialist or other health professional.
